The Nagra 4.2 was a professional portable open-reel
audio tape recorder,
built by Nagra Kudelski
in Chesaux-sur-Lausanne (Switzerland) in 1971.
The recorder was aimed at audio professionals and was very popular with
the broadcast and film industry. It was also used by
law enforcement and intelligence agencies
for wire tapping, interrogations and
covertly recording
of suspects.
