Key tape generator - this page is a stub

HL-502 is a real-time key tape generator, introduced in 1962 by HELL in Kiel (Ger­many). It was intended to replace the random key tape of the Lorenz Mixer Mi-544 (LoMi) one-time tape (OTT) cipher machine. It should therefore be regarded as a key generator, and also as (part of) a tape­less rotor­less online cipher machine (TROL). It was used by the German Army [2] and Navy [1].
