Leonardo, until 28 April 2016 known as Finmeccanica [1], is a global high-tech

in the Aerospace, Defence and Security industry, and has plants in 15

The company was founded as Finmeccanica shortly after WWII, on 18 March 1948.
The roots of the company however, go back much further than that, with
anchestor Ansaldo starting in Genoa in 1853 and Officine Galileo
starting in Florance in 1864. In 2016, the name was changed to Leonardo
in order to reflect the company's activities that
had also changed over the years [1].
