Nationaal Bureau voor de Verbindingsbeveiliging - this page is a stub

Nationaal Bureau voor de Verbindingsbeveiliging, abbreviated NBV, is the Netherlands National Communications Security Agency (NLNCSA), responsible for the communications security of the Dutch Government and armed forces, for advising potential users on communications and ICT security and providing key material. The NBV was established in June/July 1960 as the successor to the CCB, and was the executive organ of the Nationale Verbindingsbeveiligingsraad (NVBR) — the National Communications Security Council.

Initially, the NBV was an independent entity under the Dutch Foreign Ministry, but became part of the Dutch General Security Agency (AIVD) in 2001. As of 2023, the NBV has become part of the Unit Weerbaarheid (Resilience Unit) of the AIVD, as a result of which the name NBV will dissappear over time. It is likely that the international name of the organisation – NLNCSA – remains in use.
