CMD-3 is a two-way remote control unit for tracking beacons, also known
as a telecommander, introduced
around 1993 by Datong Electronics Ltd.
in Leeds (UK).
It contains an 8W transmitter in the 37 MHz band
that can be used to configure and activate covertly installed
second-generation tracking beacons, such as the D-902
and D-903,
that were used with the DF-5 direction finder.
