, developed around 1975 as part of a

of direction finders by
Ocean Applied Research (OAR)
in San Diego (Californa, USA). The device is based on the
Adcock principle
. A variant of the ADF-320 — known as the
HRR-26
— was made especially for the US
Central Intelligence Agency (CIA)
.
